Talywain Tree STATEMENT 11/11/2025

Sadly, the tree in Festival Field Talywain has been vandalised and will no longer grow to be suitable as a living community tree.  This act of vandalism has been reported to Gwent Police so we ask if anyone has any information, please pass it on to them by calling 101 or by textphone service 18001 101 quoting log 261 111125.

We understand that the tree had been adopted and much enjoyed as an opportunity to celebrate and remember by the local community and that this act of vandalism has been very distressing for many. Pontypool Community Council are therefore looking into the process of replacing the tree as a matter of priority and will keep you all informed.
