FAQ’s

Santa will be welcoming visitors from 10.30am in the Indoor Market. Please join the queue by the Crane Street entrance.

There will be a short break approx 12:30 – 1pm so Santa can eat his sandwiches.

The queue will close at 3:30pm to make sure he has time to get ready for the Parade.

We have 6 bookable slots available between 10-10.30 dedicated for those who would benefit from visiting Santa in a quieter, sensory-friendly atmosphere. If you would like to book please email  sfussell@pontypoolcc.gov.uk   places are allocated on a “first come, first served” basis.

We encourage all our guests to consider their carbon footprint and make the most of public transport when attending our events.

Travelling by Car?

Riverside and Civic Centre car parks will be open as usual during the day, and will not be affected by the Road Closures. Representatives from Torfaen Civil Parking Enforcement will be around to help answer any of your parking queries on the day.

The Indoor Market Shops will be bustling with their regular range of food and drink, and we’ll have additional outdoor vendors situated around the town.

The disabled car parking will be available at XXXX

The majority of the event takes place within the town centre on hardstanding – please take care moving around the event as surfaces may become slippery in wet weather.

Accessible toilets are available within the Indoor Market.

We love Christmas Cavalcade but it can be overwhelming with so many people and loud noises.

If you need a break, head to the top floor of Torfaen Museum where you’ll find a soothing space to recoup away from the hubbub, open 1pm-4pm

We know large events come with a large amount of waste but we’re committed to reducing the impact our event has on the planet.

You can find recycling facilities within the indoor market.

This year the Pontypool Community Council’s Charities, as chosen by the Chair, are:

Hope GB

Torfaen Pride

There will be bucket collections around the site to support these worthwhile causes.

Unfortunately the Land Train has been drafted on official North Pole business and is unable to attend on the Event Day. Rest assured there will be plenty of other exciting activities and characters to keep you entertained throughout the day!
