Party in the Park 2024

Head on down to Pontypool Park on Saturday 13th July for this year’s summer sizzler of an event, PARTY IN THE PARK 2024

Check out what’s in store…

We’re kicking off the day with Samba Galez leading a parade around the park from 11am…. Acoustic duo Mics & Fins will serenade your summer day out… And our headliner is sure to get you dancing, Ka’s Ska Soul.

We’re going wild this year with DINOMANIA – join Ranger Chris and his Dino Friends for a pre-historic takeover like no other, say hello to our Raptors as they roam the park and learn more about these amazing creatures in the DINO-MUSEUM!

Looking for a cuddlier creature? All Creatures Great and Small will be back with their Dog Show – just £2 to enter – and Animals Interactive can’t wait to introduce you to their smaller fury friends…

Not forgetting a host of inflatables, vintage games, artisan food and craft stalls and some surprise entertainers popping up throughout the day.

FAQ’s

We encourage all our guests to consider their carbon footprint and make the most of public transport when attending our events.  All pedestrian entrances to the Park will be open as usual.

Travelling by Car?

Please be aware that the Leisure Centre car park off Trosnant Street is likely to be very busy with more pedestrians than usual. Please consider using the overflow car park opposite, or the car parks in the town centre and remember to park considerately.

We have a whole range of tasty food stalls to choose from, from pasties and pies to noodles and pizzas, and no summer’s day is complete without an ice-cream!

In the centre of the main field you’ll find our tea room serving cakes and baked goods. There’s lots of tables and seating in our tea room marquee available for everyone. to use whether you’re buying a snack or bringing your own picnic from home.

The disabled car park directly outside the leisure centre will be accessible as usual.

A lot of the event takes place on grass. Some Surfaces are uneven and may be unsuitable for disability scooters / wheelchairs.

Attendees are welcome to use the accessible toilet facilities in the leisure centre, and Pontypool Museum. There will also be an accessible portaloo located by the Rugby Stadium.

We love Party in the Park, but it can be overwhelming with so many people and loud noises.

If you need a break, head to the top floor of Pontypool Museum where you’ll find a soothing space to recoup away from the hubbub, open 11am-4pm

We know large events come with a large amount of waste but we’re committed to reducing the impact our event has on the planet.

There will be 4 recycling stations around the site.

Please separate your waste into:

Paper & Card

Plastic & Cans

Food Waste

Non-recyclable waste

They’ll be dedicated volunteers near all our stations if you need help.

We will have a dedicated Children’s Zone in the enclosed field, here you’ll find the fabulous teams from Torfaen Play, Osbourne Lodge Nursery and St James’ Meithrin.

This year the Pontypool Community Council’s Charities, as chosen by the Chair, are:

Motor Neurone Disease Association

Parkinsons UK Cymru

There will be bucket collections around the site to support these worthwhile causes.
